How to Stop a High-Impact Debris Hit

Debris isn’t exactly a common word when it comes to bullets or guns, but that doesn’t mean there’s no such thing as bullet debris. The most popular use of the word comes from space science and natural disasters. As you already know, the term “debris” in their popular use means leftover pieces of a destroyed object. The meaning in our context is not entirely far-fetched. Debris can also refer to the destruction caused by the impact of bullets on objects or even a person.

The average bullet can move at a mind-blowing speed of 2000 miles per hour. When a bullet travelling at this speed hits anything, it is not uncommon for there to be high-impact debris from the hit. However, there’s a possibility of stopping a high-impact debris hit. Let’s show you how.

One of the first and most common ways to stop a high-impact debris hit from a bullet is the use of bulletproofs. These days bulletproofs come in several forms. Asides bulletproof vests, there are now bulletproof cars, suits, windows and doors. These bulletproof can repel bullets without causing any damage. However, you should know that bullets differ according to their caliber. High caliber bullets which cause the most debris from a hit can only be repelled by stronger and high grade bulletproofs.

Another material that proves effective against the impact of bullets is the ballistic plate carrier. Plate carriers are wearable gears that house armored plates and can withstand bullet hits. As with bulletproofs, plate carriers are limited by the caliber of bullets they can repel.

Lastly, common metals can prevent high-impact debris. To achieve this, the thickness of the metal is an important factor to consider. Thicker metals can repel bullets more effectively. In a case, the best way to stop a high-impact debris hit is to use a material relative to the force of the bullet you’re expecting.
